If you’ve ever been to a conference of any sort, you probably know what we’re talking about when we say “boring.” A good number of people give speeches and presentations their best shot, but sometimes their best just isn’t all that great. Witnessing a lackluster speech is sometimes worse than a root canal (at least they have numbing agents for that). Usually, these kinds of speeches involve a lot of wrist checking—whether you have a watch or not—and counting minutes.

YouTube isn’t that difficult to understand; you post videos, and people watch them. In fact, the simple platform is probably why it’s so popular among many audiences today. Videos are engaging, and people like to watch them—especially when they are trying to learn something or just need some entertainment for the moment.

Surveys—you’re probably sick of them, right? After all, most of us get one every time we talk to, smile at or breathe on a customer service associate, and it can get tiring. It makes sense that you, as a business owner, may not think they are that important because of the over-saturation of surveys in our every day interactions with companies.

When those rumors start flying, The idea that Facebook is about to change everyone’s privacy settings to “public,” meaning that any and everyone will be able to see whatever it is you post on your Facebook page, from those pictures of cute kittens, to the pictures you probably don’t want your boss to see of what you were really doing at last year’s Christmas party.

There is little doubt that Facebook is one of the most powerful tools that can be used by businesses to market their products and services. While many make this assumption based solely on the sheer amount of active Facebook users, there is much more to the story.

The Target breach had absolutely horrendous consequences, and many businesses are struggling to up their security. New employees, technologies, and features are being put into place in attempts to stop that kind of thing from happening again. However, it appears that some companies—the largest of the large—just aren’t getting the message.

You’re running late for that meeting. Donut in one hand and phone in the other, you run through the pouring rain to get to your car when your battery light starts flashing. “Plug in your charger,” your phone proclaims as you realize you forgot to charge it last night.
